Creative resistance

Halfsister will present works by various artists connected to the Georgian resistance movement, who have participated in events and exhibitions at Halfsister in 2025 and 2026 at In the Mountains Festival.

Since the protests in the streets of Tbilisi began in 2024, following the announcement of the preliminary official results of the parliamentary elections held on 26 October, Halfsister has hosted numerous artists from Georgia.

In 2024, we hosted our first fundraising event in solidarity with Georgia. Since then, we have continued to use our space to raise awareness of the political situation in Georgia and the growing threats to the country’s democratic processes. Through exhibitions, talks, film screenings, and other events, Halfsister has provided a platform for artists from Georgia to share their work and perspectives on the ongoing situation.
