Book corner
14:00 – 20:00 — KAMINZIMMER

At IN THE MOUNTAINS, the GZA presents a book corner with Georgian literature and books about Georgia. It is the first step towards a community library in Berlin: a place where Georgians can stay connected to their homeland, and where anyone interested can explore the country's literature and history. Visitors can discover what Georgians write about, what concerns them, and what role Georgian art plays in the world.
Historically, books have been inseparable from the political process, and this time is no exception. Georgia's struggle for freedom and European values is under pressure, and independent Georgian publishers are directly affected by repressive laws while continuing to defend the right to free expression. By visiting our corner, you support their fight.
Come by, browse, and find out more about our book festival on 11 October, where you can find a much larger assortment of classics and modern Georgian literature, and meet the publishers in person.
